KARACHI: Former Windies cricketer and renowned commentator Ian Bishop was impressed with the talent on display during the ninth season of the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Speaking to X, formerly Twitter, Bishop said that PSL 9 showed that Pakistan should be a formidable team in this year’s T20 World Cup.
Bishop also congratulated Islamabad United for winning the title for the third time in history.
“The talent on display suggests that Pakistan should be a formidable team at the ICC T20 CWC 2024. They have some terrific bowling options and key players who have been part of the CPL in the Caribbean,” Bishop said.
Islamabad won their third PSL title when they beat Multan Sultans in the final last night, after winning in 2016 and 2018 to become the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
The thriller was decided on the last ball when Hunain Shah came into bat with one run required off the last ball. The youngster smartly identified the gap in point and hit the ball for four.
Earlier, Sultans posted 159-9 in their 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat.
