Islamabad: On this International Day of Peace, the government and people of Pakistan join the global community to reflect on our shared values of tolerance, compassion and cooperation for a peaceful world free of war and conflict.
On this World Day of Peace, we recognize the importance of promoting dialogue and understanding between different communities for a peaceful and sustainable world. In a world often marked by conflict and division, it is essential to bridge our differences and work towards the common goal of peace.
Pakistan strongly believes in promoting peace and stability in the region through dialogue. In order to effectively achieve this goal, it is necessary to resolve long-standing disputes. Thus, the basis of any lasting resolution in the region depends on only one critical factor: achieving a fair and just settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through peaceful means through an impartial plebiscite and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
When we think about the meaning of peace, we must not overlook the plight of the innocent people of Palestine who are bravely facing state aggression. For lasting peace in the Middle East, a peaceful resolution of the dispute according to UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinians is urgent.
Pakistan recognizes the critical importance of promoting a more peaceful and inclusive world for everyone and stands ready to work with the global community. Only by working together now can we build peaceful tomorrows for our future generations.
