Islamabad: Federal Minister for Privatization and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan is in Tajikistan and held productive talks with Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzada and other senior officials.
In his meeting with Prime Minister Rasulzada, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The prime minister of Tajikistan replied that “Tajikistan’s door is always open for bilateral cooperation.”
The two leaders exchanged gifts and thanked each other for their friendship.
The meeting focused on developing cooperation in trade, communication and transportation, and discussions included bilateral trade with Central Asian countries, road connectivity, business-to-business and government-to-government trade.
Abdul Aleem Khan also held a productive meeting with Minister of Mineral Resources of Tajikistan Ahmedzada Nur Mehmed and explored the possibility of exporting sugar, potatoes, textiles and other food products, including goods to Pakistan.
Calling his visit to Tajikistan “useful”, Abdul Aleem Khan expressed hope that there will be practical progress on bilateral trade issues leading to the development of economic cooperation between Pakistan and Central Asian countries.
