Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishak Dar and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan decided on Monday to increase the volume of bilateral trade to 5 billion dollars.
This decision was taken during delegation-level discussions between the two parties and was announced at a press conference held by the two foreign ministers.
After his arrival yesterday, Fidan was received by the Additional Secretary of State (Afghanistan and West Asia), Ambassador Ahmed Nasim Warreich.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the various bilateral relations and emphasized the continuous strengthening of cooperation in the sectors of trade, investment, communication and defense and the increase of people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

Highlighting the longstanding defense cooperation between Ankara and Islamabad, Dar called for collective action against Islamophobia in his speech.
“Both countries have worked together to ensure sovereignty and fight terrorism. At the OIC summit held in Banjul on May 4, we called for a concerted effort against Islamophobia, which led to the appointment of Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, the Turkish ambassador to Pakistan. I am also grateful for the support Turkey to the oppressed in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOC).
The two also discussed Israel’s invasion of the occupied Palestinian enclave, calling for an urgent ceasefire and critical humanitarian aid.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that lasting peace in the Middle East requires the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with the wishes of the Palestinian people.

Fidan thanked Pakistan for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation. Describing his meeting with Dar as fruitful, the Turkish representative said that the two sides made key decisions to strengthen their relationship not only in trade, but also in the field of defense, investment, banking, science and technology.
He also expressed deep sorrow over the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, FM Amir Abdullahi and others. Turkish diplomats said that urgent communication began with Iranian authorities and all resources were quickly mobilized after receiving this message.
Fidan echoed Dar’s words to promote measures to fight terrorism and boost trade.
Turk FM emphasizes the economic and strategic importance of Pakistan and neighboring countries such as China and Afghanistan. He reaffirmed the undying friendship and brotherhood between the two countries and assured mutual support in all matters.
