On the direction of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammed Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Hassan Zaigham met with Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Imangazyev Almaz about the violence in Bishkek.
Ambassador Hasan Zaigham raised the concerns of Pakistani citizens, especially the large number of Pakistani students and their families. He urged the Kyrgyz government to prioritize the protection of Pakistani citizens.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan said that the Kyrgyz authorities are returning to the current situation. He said that the Kyrgyz police provide security to all dormitories and that the matter is under the direct control of the Kyrgyz president.
Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz assured the ambassador that the Kyrgyz government will take legal action against those responsible for yesterday’s attack.
