LAHORE: The Australian volleyball team will play a three-match test series against the hosts in Pakistan on May 26.
This will be the first ever series between Pakistan and Australia.
Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Chairman Chaudhry Mohammad Oqaqob confirmed the Australian team’s visit after a meeting with Australian Volleyball Federation (AVF) officials on Monday.
AVF has floated the idea of playing a three-match series against Pakistan before the Challenge Cup in Bahrain. PVF agreed to play the series after receiving an offer from AVF.
“All arrangements have been made to ensure the proper conduct of the event, including security measures,” he said.

Earlier, Pakistan defeated Turkmenistan in the final of the Central Asian Nations Volleyball League (CAVA) at the Liaquat Gymnasium in Islamabad on Friday.
Pakistan won 3-1 with scores of 25-21, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-14. The hosts showed a strong offensive and defensive strategy, securing early leads in the first two sets.
Turkmenistan came back 25-20 in the third set. However, Pakistan regained control in the fourth set and won the match 25-14.
During the event, Pakistan stunned everyone by winning six matches.
