LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved the schedule for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh on Friday.
The 2024-25 home international season will begin with Bangladesh playing two Tests in Rawalpindi (August 21-25) and Karachi (August 30-September 3).
Bangladesh last played a Test against Pakistan in February 2020.
Bangladesh Cricket Board Chairman Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said: “We thank the PCB for approving Bangladesh’s schedule for the ICC World Cup match against Pakistan.”
“This series is an important test for us, but also an opportunity to show our progress in this format.”
Meanwhile, Bangladesh men’s cricket team captain Najmul Hussain Shanto said, “As a team, we are looking forward to returning to Pakistan for the ICC Test World Cup.
“Playing Pakistan is always a tough but exciting prospect and we have to do our best to compete against a formidable home team in our own game.”
The series will be Jason Gillespie’s second stint as head coach of the Pakistan Test team after being appointed in April and Shan Masood’s second stint as captain last year. Initially, he led the Australian team in a three-Test series defeat in Australia 3-0.
