ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to Afghanistan have registered an increase of 4.12 percent during the twelve months of the fiscal year (2023-2024) compared to exports for the corresponding period last year, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported.
Total exports to Afghanistan were recorded at USD 544.008 million during July-June (2023-24) against USD 522.271 million during July-June (2022-23), SBP data revealed.
Year-on-year exports to Afghanistan also increased by 5.53 percent from $43.657 million in June 2023, compared to exports of $46.073 million in June 2024.
Meanwhile, month-on-month exports to Afghanistan during June 2024 declined by 38.04 percent compared to exports of $74.369 million in May 2024, SBP data revealed.
Pakistan’s total exports to other countries registered an increase of 11.53 percent from USD 27.875 billion to USD 31.090 billion in FY 2023-24, SBP data revealed.
On the other hand, Afghanistan’s imports into the country were recorded at USD 11.923 million during the period under review as against USD 15.277 million last year, a decline of 21.95 percent in July-June (2023-24).
On a year-over-year basis, imports into Afghanistan increased to $1.773 million in June 2024 from zero imports in June 2023.
On a month-on-month basis, Afghanistan’s imports into the country saw a decline of 36.67 percent during June 2024 compared to $2,800 million worth of imports during May 2024, according to the data.
Total imports into the country rose 0.89 percent from $52.695 billion to $53.167 billion, according to the data.
