Muzaffarabad: Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Uzair Ahmed Ghazali appealed the masses to hold protests and rallies against India on August 5th on Youm-e-Istehsal (Exploitation) day.
In a statement issued to media, he said that August 5th is the darkest day in the history of the state of Jammu and Kashmir when India jailed 13 million people of the occupied state by 1 million soldiers with guns.
He maintained that not only the population been taken hostage, but the entire state has been turned into a prison.
Uzair appealed the Kashmiri citizens living on both sides of the ceasefire line and around the world to observe August 5, 2024 as Exploitation day and Protest day against India.
He voiced that Indian coercive tyranny over the occupied state cannot be tolerated in any way, nor the Kashmiri people be left at the mercy of Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Ghazali said that the time has come for the people of both sides of the state to organize a state-wide resistance movement against India for the freedom of the state.
He said that the government of Narendra Modi has failed miserably in asserting military sovereignty over the people of Jammu and Kashmir despite all the coercion.
Uzair said that the Kashmiri people have made an irrevocable decision that whatever the circumstances and events may be, they will continue the resistance movement for their basic right to self-determination.
Ghazali said that 5th August is the darkest day in the history of the state when Indian imperialism took away their home and identity from the Kashmiri people.
He appealed the people of Azad Kashmir to protest against India on August 5 in their respective districts and cities and raise demand to United Nations to undo the action of Indian government on August 5, 2019 and the biased decision of the Indian Supreme Court on December 11, 2023.
While talking about the 5th august event, he said that a march will be held towards the United Nations Observer Office in the capital and a memorandum will be presented to them to fulfill the promise of the right of self-determination made with the Kashmiri people.
