LAHORE: Newly elected Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has initiated a comprehensive review of the board’s expenditure.
The request, directed toward the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), underscores a meticulous approach towards financial management within the organization.
Sources privy to the matter have disclosed that the scope of the expenditure report encompasses various facets of PCB’s operations.
These include allocations towards the Pakistan cricket team, expenses related to sports staff, and the financial outlay for organizing matches. Additionally, the report will shed light on the annual budget of the PCB, as well as the remuneration provided to players.
The directive from Chairman Naqvi is not merely a procedural exercise but signifies a deeper intent to correlate expenditure with the performance of the national cricket team.
It is understood that Chairman Naqvi is keen on scrutinising the financial investments vis-à-vis the on-field outcomes, indicating a strategic approach towards resource allocation.
Following the preparation of the detailed report, Chairman Naqvi is slated to convene a briefing session with the top brass of the PCB.
