LAHORE: Part of the Gujarat Titans coaching staff in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Kirsten was the head coach of the Indian team that lifted the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup title.
Gillespie, meanwhile, has just stepped down as South Australia’s men’s head coach with the Adelaide Strikers. In 2014 and 2015, he previously led Yorkshire back in Division 1.
PCB has also advertised the post of assistant coach of Pakistan cricket team who will support the red ball and white ball coach on Saturday. Applicants for this position must have at least Level 2 coaching accreditation and three years’ experience with an international team, franchise or domestic side.
As per PCB advertisement, interested candidates can apply till 20 April 5 pm.
It should be noted that former Pakistan coaching staff, including Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick, who were transferred to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, left their posts in January this year after their portfolio was reshuffled in November. 2023.
In April 2023, Arthur was appointed as the manager of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, while Bradburn was appointed as the head coach. Former South African cricketer Puttick has been the batting coach since April 2023.
According to PCB, the decision was taken positively by all parties.
