LAHORE; – Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Agency (PDMA) Irfan Ali Katia on Saturday ordered the deputy commissioners of the province to be alert due to heavy rain in various districts.
Katia said the emergency department should be vigilant.
The district emergency operation centers of all districts, including the district control room, have been alerted.
Monitoring the situation in the PDMA control room continues 24/7 and 1122 and other rescue agencies are asked to be on constant alert with their equipment and personnel.
Katia said the evacuation of residential areas should be done as soon as possible.
He also asked residents to be careful and stay away from damaged power poles, cables and buildings.
He urged residents to call the PDMA 1129 hotline for help, take special care of children and go to the water that accumulates in weak areas.
