A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Jeddah to Islamabad has detained 50 passengers at Jeddah Airport due to its small size, according to an airline spokesperson.
He said accommodation and basic facilities have been provided to the passengers in nearby hotels and arrangements have been made to transport them to Islamabad.
Flight PK-942 was originally scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Sunday, most of the passengers were Umrah pilgrims. However, 50 passengers had to stay in Jeddah due to the limited capacity of the aircraft.
Responding to the situation, the press secretary said that a special plane would be set up today to transport all the passengers from Jeddah to Islamabad.
Delays and inconveniences to passengers require intervention from top management.
Additionally, flights from Jeddah to Karachi and Karachi-Islamabad were suspended due to PIA flight operations. The delay has disrupted passengers on the national airline.
The flight, which was supposed to leave at 7am, was delayed for several hours due to a shortage of aircraft.
The incident highlights the challenges faced by passengers and airlines, and the need for effective communication and efficiency to ensure a smooth travel experience.
