SWAT: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali visited Swat district on Saturday and participated as the chief guest in the 4th convocation of Saidu Medical College.
On this occasion, 172 male and female students of session 2018 from session 2018 graduated,while Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distributed degrees among the students.
Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University Professor Dr. Ziaul Haq, Secretary Information and Public Relations Abdul Jabar Shah, Secretary Higher Education Arshad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Swat Dr. Qasim Ali Khan, District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, besides the teachers of Saidu Medical College, parents and students of graduates participated.
Professor Dr. israr Ul Haq, principal of Saidu Medical College presented the thank you note and presented the annual performance report of the college.
Addressing the convocation ceremony, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali said that the 21st century requires us to innovate and research and the talented people of every field, including our doctors, should make research their mission, so that Pakistan will be also able to join the ranks of the countries going forward.
“I will try my best to increase the number of seats in Saidu Medical college from 100 to 150 in the next session so that more children can get opportunities,”He further said.
The Governor said, ‘Today, I am very happy to be present in the gathering of graduates who have stepped into the world of medicine in an atmosphere like Swat valley. Now it is the responsibility of the youth to support their parents and make service to the suffering humanity in the true sense their motto.
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that today’s new generation lacks tolerance, but we believe that if the youth read the history of their forefathers, the substance of tolerance and tolerance can emerge in them.
He further said that the parents deserve to be congratulated, who provided their children with education even in difficult circumstances.
The Governor said that practical steps will be taken for the solarization of Saidu Medical College so that the electricity problems faced by the college can be solved on a permanent basis.
Haji Ghulam Ali said that he has also spoken to the Prime Minister during his Peshawar visit about the financial problems faced by the universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the provision of funds and I am sure that very soon we will come out of this financial crisis.
At the end of the ceremony, gold medals were distributed to the students who showed the best performance during their session.
Later Principal Saidu Medical College Professor Dr. Asrarul Haq presented shields to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ziaul Haq.
