Pakistan welcomes foreign investment, businesses: PM
LAHORE: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that Pakistan is moving fast towards economic stability and welcomes investors and businessmen from all over the world. He said they are improving public-private partnership in this regard.
In a press release, the Prime Minister’s Media Wing invited the Prime Minister to a delegation that included members of the Istanbul Airport Board of Directors (IGA), Airport General Managers and Chief Corporate Officers.
The Prime Minister said that he wants to develop investment and cooperation with the sister country of Turkey.
He informed that steps are being taken to upgrade and improve passenger facilities at Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore airports.
He said that some commercial operations at Islamabad International Airport were outsourced in a private-public partnership and transparent outsourcing at all stages was one of the priorities.
Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Economy Minister Ahad Khan Chema and relevant senior officials attended the meeting. Durmus Bastug, General Counselor of Turkey in Lahore, and other officials were also present.
The Prime Minister also said that there is a big opportunity for investment and cooperation in the field of urban development.
He observed that Pakistan and Turkey are brother countries and their bilateral relations are improving with time. He said, it is time for the two countries to improve cooperation.
The delegation expressed great interest in investment and cooperation opportunities in Pakistan.
PM strongly condemns terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat; lauds security forces’ operation in DI Khan
Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack on police personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district on Saturday.
In a press release by the Prime Minister’s Media Wing, the Prime Minister prayed for Shaheed DSP Gul Mohammad Khan, Nasim Gul, police officers and other senior officials and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
The Prime Minister said that the KP Police is acting as a defense against terrorism. A cowardly act of terrorism could not shake his resolve.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the security forces for their successful operation against terrorists in the Dera Ismail Khan area.
In a statement shared with Media Wing, the Prime Minister said that the brave soldiers of the security forces fought terrorists without sacrificing their lives and were sent to hell.
Security forces have made unprecedented sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, he said, determined to eradicate the specter of terrorism.
The Prime Minister also said that the entire nation respects the shadow and services of the security forces.
PM departs to KSA in a commercial airline
Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif left for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on a business visit from April 6 to 8.
This will be the prime minister’s first foreign visit since his election.
He was accompanied by federal ministers including Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Abdul Aleem Khan, Attaullah Tarar and Ahad Khan Chema. Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz also accompanied the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister will stay in Madina Munawar after arriving in KSA tonight.
In a previous press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister will perform Umrah and pray at the Prophet Al-Sharif Mosque.
Pakistan and KSA have long enjoyed fraternal relations rooted in religious and cultural affinity.
Also, the people of Pakistan highly respect and honor the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
The leaders of the two countries are committed to developing brotherly relations and mutually beneficial economic and investment ties.
