ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday paid tribute to the courage and perseverance of the country’s police force and appreciated the sacrifices of martyred policemen in the line of duty.
In his statement on the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police Day, the Prime Minister said that the sacrifices made by the police force in the line of duty and eradicating crimes were unprecedented, adding that the day reminded them of the valor and bravery displayed by them. by force.
“In the fight against terrorism, the police have always played a leading role and police personnel have laid down their lives to secure and brighten the future of the nation,” the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office quoted the Prime Minister as saying in a statement today. .
Prime Minister Shehbaz added that the entire nation was proud of its martyred policemen and saluted them for their sacrifices.
He said it was the responsibility of the government to take care of the bereaved families of the martyred policemen and personnel and reiterated that no leniency would be tolerated in this regard.
The prime minister assured that the federal government would take all possible steps to provide education and health facilities to the children of the martyrs, adding that every possible care would be taken to the bereaved families.
Chief Minister Shehbaz said that during his tenure as Punjab Chief Minister, a big and historic package was announced for martyred police personnel.
The President recognizes the role of the police in the fight against terrorism
In his tribute to the martyrs of the police force, President Asif Ali Zardari praised their unparalleled bravery and sacrifices.
A statement issued by the Presidential Secretariat Press Wing said, “The entire nation is proud of its brave police force for their sacrifices. Police officers laid down their lives fighting terrorists and criminal elements on the front lines.”
The statement quoted the president as highlighting the role of the police for success in the fight against terrorism.
He added that jawans of this force have sacrificed their lives, fighting terrorists and anti-social elements in various parts of the country.
Mohsin Naqvi remembers the great sacrifices of police martyrs
In his tribute to the police force, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi hailed the “eternal sacrifices” of its martyrs.
“Police martyrs are the pride of the entire nation. Police officers and youth have always suppressed crimes as a vanguard,” he said.
The minister appreciated the exemplary services of the police of all provinces for the establishment of peace.
“Even in the war on terror, policemen and soldiers have gone down in history with their blood,” he said.
He also appreciated the courage of martyred Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashraf Marth, who was shot dead by unknown assailants on May 6, 1997 in Gujranwala. He was known for his leadership skills and commendable performance of duty and courage.
Meanwhile, Naqvi also recalled the services of martyred Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Captain (retd) Syed Ahmed Mubeen Shaheed who laid down his life on February 13, 2017 in Lahore when a heavy blast hit a demonstration in the city.
KP Governor remembers police officers for ‘supreme sacrifice’
In his tribute to the police force, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said the celebration of the day informed the great sacrifices of the police force towards the defense of the country. He also appreciated the dedication, commitment and services of its officers and personnel who laid down their lives to protect the motherland.
“We should also remember the families of police martyrs who have lost their loved ones for our safe and prosperous future,” the governor said, adding, “Police martyrs are our true heroes and their sacrifices have been greatly appreciated by the entire nation.”
He argued that the police martyrs’ day reminds the nation of the selfless duties and supreme sacrifices they offer.
Like other security forces, KP policemen and jawans have also led from the front in the fight against terrorism, sacrificing their lives in the line of duty, Kundi said.
Despite limited resources, he added, the KP Police fought all kinds of threats including terrorism bravely and unflinchingly and foiled nefarious designs of enemy forces.
Sindh Governor Tessori, Interior Minister pay tribute
In his message for the day, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori said that the eternal sacrifices of police martyrs will always be remembered.
“The services of the police are commendable for maintaining peace in the country,” the Sindh Governor House spokesman said, referring to Tessori.
The role of the police in the anti-terror campaign with the security forces is important, the statement added.
Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar who shared his statement on the occasion said that it is the collective responsibility of all of us to celebrate Police Martyrs Day.
“Tribute to the sacrifices of police martyrs should be presented in a unique and dignified manner,” the minister said, adding that police martyrs and their achievements have become part of the golden history of Sindh Police.
The Sindh government, Lanjar said, is taking the lead in supporting and helping the heirs of the martyred policemen.
Punjab CM Maryam says nation is proud of martyrs
In her message for the martyrs, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz hailed their sacrifice and described it as a contribution that will “never be forgotten”.
“There will be no compromise on the issue of worshiping the martyrs. The government is and will always be with the families of the martyrs,” she said in a statement.
CM Maryam asserted that the police force is performing valuable tasks in every area. She said the government will fully fulfill its duty to care and serve the family of every martyr.
