Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had a telephone conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday and extended his warm greetings to him on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
The two leaders expressed their best wishes and prayers for the growth and prosperity of the people of UAE and Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed his gratitude to the President of Pakistan Mohammed bin Zayed for the UAE’s continuous support to Pakistan and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Emirates through thick and thin.
Recalling the “most productive” visit to the UAE in May 2024, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to transform the fraternal and special relationship between the two countries into a sustainable and mutually beneficial strategic partner, especially in trade and investment.
Emphasizing the importance of frequent high-level exchanges between the two countries, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated his invitation to the UAE President to arrange an official visit to Pakistan at the most convenient time.
In response, Sheikh Mohammed graciously accepted the invitation and agreed to an official visit to Pakistan.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close ties to promote their common desire to promote friendship and close ties between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated the government’s determination to develop Gilgit-Baltistan and said that the welfare and well-being of the people of the region is the government’s top priority.
He said this in a telephonic conversation with Governor Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah.
During the conversation, the two chairmen greeted each other on Eid al-Fitr and prayed for each other.
