Mardan: A delegation of Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) and Punjab Local Government (PLG) Officers visited Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) and its Integrated Resource Recovery Center (IRRC) in Mardan. The delegation led by Syed Zahid Aziz Managing Director PMDFC while General Manager Mahmood Masood Tamana, Deputy Manager Suhaib Rasheed and others were included. Manager Planning and Projects Imran Zaman, Manager HR & Admin Rahatullah and Deputy Manager Solid Waste Management Muhammad Ishaq briefed the delegates on WSSCM operations and conversion of organic waste into organic fertilizers. While speaking to the delegates Imran Zaman said that beside the limited resources WSSCM is providing efficient and phenomenal sanitation services to the citizens of Mardan. Our mission is to make Mardan a model city in terms of cleanliness and safe drinking water. He highlighted that the company has formulated comprehensive strategy to make Mardan city clean. The delegation was informed that with the support of German International Cooperation (Giz) WSSCM has installed SCADA system in six tube wells and fuel sensors in ten vehicles for the efficient use of energy. Managing Director Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company Syed Zahid Aziz stated that it is our top priority to build better liaison with Local Government Institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He lauded the performance of WSSCM and said that both the institutions will work closely for knowledge sharing. He appealed the citizens of the entire country to reduce the use of plastic so that environmental pollution can be reduced. He also appreciated the efforts of German International Cooperation (GiZ) for bridging the gap between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Local Government Institutions.
