ISLAMABAD: Senator Asif Kirmani of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has underlined a shift in the party’s narrative, revealing that the PML-N will not take an anti-establishment posture in the upcoming elections.
He acknowledged that the ‘vote ko izzat do’ narrative has drifted away from the PMLN, emphasizing the need for a new narrative.
The Voice of America interviewed a senior PML-N leader.
The extension of General Bajwa’s term was essential in changing the party’s stance, putting an end to the prior narrative of vote ko izzat.

Kirmani argued that Nawaz Sharif has become more expeditious and less compromising, attributing this shift to influential party members.
According to Kirmani, Nawaz Sharif sought for structural transformation in the country, but some factors hindered him from fully achieving his objectives. The top leader voiced Nawaz Sharif’s wish for immediate elections following the no-confidence motion, claiming that intervention from certain factions within the party influenced the decision.
Kirmani also revealed a ‘new edition’ within the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), implying that this rising faction is now making decisions on Nawaz Sharif’s behalf.
