SWAT: The case of a seventy-year-old man getting Nikaah to a fourteen-year-old girl at Nagoha area of Barikot Tehsil in Swat district has reached the police station and the police has summoned the parties including the girl and stopped the departure( Rukhsati) until the legal requirements are fulfilled.
In this regard, SHO police Ghaligay, Roshan Ali said that the aged man Hanifa son of Habib Gul and his son Salman have filed separate applications against each other in police station.
On the other hand, his son Salman has demanded to stop the father’s marriage and stated that the marriage to a minor girl was inappropriate.
“The police called the parties and the accused girl Mst (M) and her father to the police station and found out that the girl is young, added that the police has stopped the departure (Rukhsati) until the legal requirements are fulfilled and an inquiry has been started under section 157.” he further said.
According to the police, a medical team will be contacted for a medical examination to ascertain the real age of the girl.
