SUŁOSZOWA: If you think you know how to live in a small town, think again. Europe has cities where every 6,000 inhabitants live on the same street. The village of Sułoszowa in southern Poland is a close-knit community living along a 9-kilometer road. Called “Little Tuscany” because of its unique location, this town is not your average neighborhood. What makes Suloszova so special is not only the fact that a person lives on the same road, but the lifestyle. Residents are surrounded by long paths for gardens, giving the place a relaxed, rural feel. In 2017, this town has a population of 5819 and they all live in harmony.
Despite its unusual location, the residents of Sułoszowa love their city and wouldn’t trade it for anything else. “Every place looks the same: there is a house and then there is a path, so that’s the beauty of the picture. One is grain, the other is forced, the third has something else. The colors look beautiful from above,” he said.
Since it was shared on Reddit, this small-town piece has gone viral on social media. The user shared the weather view on the photo and wrote, “Sułoszowa, Poland has 6,000 inhabitants, all living on one street.”
Users are quick to point out the beauty of the village layout, with each house having a path for gardening, livestock or other needs, resulting in a variety of colors. Others describe the tranquility and charm of the countryside compared to city life. “Each house has different things to do, so they have different colors and use the space for different purposes. Some grow crops, some have animals, some lie down,” said another user.
“Now I often wish I was born in a place like this instead of NY. It seems so peaceful. I know expectations vs. reality, but boy can dream,” read another comment. Living on the same street may seem claustrophobic to some, but for the residents of Sułoszowa, it’s a way of life. They are used to everyone around them and would not want it any other way.
