ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday confirmed the willingness of the PPP to be part of the federal government without seeking a share of power.
In an interview with a private news channel, he highlighted the PPP’s commitment to national interests and willingness to offer cooperation to state coffers, even without holding ministerial positions.
Although coalition governments are usually seen as weak, he said, adding that they can also be a strength if run effectively and with unity.
Responding to a query, he said that even in these difficult situations, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) attitude towards reconciliation and progress is undemocratic.
Furthermore, Qaira, reacting to reports of his candidacy for the Punjab governorship, said the decision rests with the party leadership.
