LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has announced a historic revenue of over $88 billion for the financial year 2023-24, marking a major milestone in its financial performance.
That’s a 40 percent increase from the $63 billion in revenue recorded in the last fiscal year, a PR spokeswoman said on Sunday.
Exceeding the government’s initial revenue target of $73 billion, Pakistan Railways posted its highest ever revenue, reflecting efficiency and service expansion. This unprecedented success generated more than $47 billion from passenger rail, $28 billion from freight services, and more than $13 billion from railroad land and other sources. Commenting on this achievement, PR CEO Amir Ali Buluch said that this achievement is a testament to the tireless efforts and dedication of our employees. He said that our target is to target this revenue to one trillion rupees in the next financial year.
