Islamabad: Pakistan Red Crescent Society (HHR) under the leadership of President Sardar Shaheed Ahmed Laghari together with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has successfully distributed 210 rickshaws to affected families. 2022 monsoon flood. This initiative is an important part of HHR’s Life Support in Recovery Program.
Charitable rickshaws were distributed to deserving families in five districts of Sindh including Dadu, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Larkana and Kambar Shahdadkot, each district receiving 35 rickshaws. In addition, 35 rickshaws are distributed in Jaffarabad district of Balochistan. Distribution of load rickshaws in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be after Eid. This initiative aims to strengthen the affected communities by providing a source of income. This is part of HHR’s efforts to help communities regain recreation and move toward a brighter future.
The distribution ceremony was held in the first and second week of June in the presence of HHR Secretary General Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, Health Coordinator Dr. Asfar Shams, IFRC Pakistan Country Representative, HHR Provincial and District Office staff and IFRC Country Representative. , volunteers, community members and local celebrities.
Sardar Shaheed Ahmed Laghari, Chairman of HHR, praised the firm commitment of HHR staff and volunteers who continue to provide vital support to flood-affected communities. He said HHR is committed to restoring normalcy through multifaceted programs such as social welfare, shelter construction, cash assistance, and health and sanitation initiatives.

They will live well and support their families. The beneficiaries of this initiative have been identified after due diligence so that only the most vulnerable communities receive it.”
