Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday directed the concerned authorities to ensure compensation of $4.7 million each to 1,500 beneficiaries of Diamer Bhasha Dam.
The President said this in a separate meeting with Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam and Energy Minister Dr Musaddiq Malik.
Emphasizing the need to establish medical colleges and hospitals in GB, the President directed the concerned departments to take priority measures for this purpose.
In addition, Benazir ordered to expand the scope of the Income Support Program (BISP) to provide health facilities to GB citizens.
A few days ago the Governor of GB and the members of the GB Board briefed the President on the problems faced by the people of GB. The president also said he would take action to help solve the problem.
