Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari praised Mohtasib Bank for handling more than 25,000 complaints and disbursing $1,000,000 in cash assistance. 1.26 billion to bank customers in 2023. The President expressed this view while talking to Bank Mohtasib Pakistan (BMP) and Mr. Sirajuddin Aziz, who called on him today at Aiwan-e-Sadr and presented BMP’s annual report.
In a brief speech to the President, the Banking Ombudsman highlighted the role and performance of Bank Mohtasib in quickly resolving the complaints of bank customers who lost their money and life savings to fraudsters. He further informed that BMP recently opened a user-friendly system of online portal, making it easier for complainants to register their complaints.
Emphasizing the importance of speedy justice for victims of fraud, the President said that as an institution, Bank Mohtasib has played an important role in providing free justice to the people and promoting good governance. He said there is a need to keep pace with technological advancements to quickly redress complaints.
The President also emphasized the need to raise awareness about Bank Mohtasib’s role and services against banking abuses so that a large number of people can benefit from the services.
