Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday met President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss the overall economic situation of the country and highlighted the issue of providing relief to the people in the annual budget 2024-25.
Federal Minister for Planning and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal also attended the meeting, according to a press release from the Presidential Palace.
President said that interests of lower income group and middle class should be protected in annual budget. He also assured the Prime Minister of his support for national development and achieving financial goals.
Prime Minister Shehbaz and President Zardari also exchanged views on development projects to be proposed in the next budget.
The Prime Minister reminded the President about his five-day visit to China.
