Islamabad: Prime Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, at the special request and persistent efforts of Haji Gulbar Khan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a high-level committee to present proposals to solve the problem of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The nine-member committee will be headed by the Minister of Finance and Revenue Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb and included Energy Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari; Minister of Water Resources, Mr. Musadik Masood Malik; Mr. Amir Muqam, Minister of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs; Secretary of State, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs; Engineer Muhammed Ismail, Minister of Finance, GB; Engineer Muhammad Anwar, Minister of Agriculture, GB; Mr. Fatehullah Khan, BOI, GB; and the Secretary General of Gilgit Baltistan.
The council term includes strengthening proposals on financial issues, net income, creation of new districts, electricity crisis and grain subsidy. The committee will submit its report to the Prime Minister within thirty (30) days and present a comprehensive road map to address the problems faced by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Prime Minister Haji Gulbar Khan welcomed the constitution of the committee and thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his prompt response to the issues facing Gilgit-Baltistan. He assured the people of Gilgit-Baltistan that his government would continue to work hard to ensure the implementation of the recommendations of the committee and resolve the long-standing problems of the region.
This committee took important steps to solve the Gilgit-Baltistan problem and ensure the economic and social development of the region. The people of Gilgit-Baltistan have been facing problems related to financial problems, electricity crisis and grain subsidy for a long time and this committee offers a ray of hope to solve these problems.
The constitution of this committee is proof of the commitment of the Prime Minister to address the challenges facing Gilgit-Baltistan and ensure the development and prosperity of the region.
