Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s desire to promote trade relations with Turkey.
Speaking to a high-level delegation of leading Turkish businessmen led by Turkish Customs and Trade Minister Omer Bolat, he said priority steps are being taken to bring the trade volume to five billion dollars a year as agreed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. .
The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to provide all kinds of facilities to the Turkish investors for investment in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Turkey have ideal brotherly relations spanning centuries. He reiterated his invitation to President Recep Tayyip Erodgan to visit Pakistan and said that Pakistanis were expecting his visit.
The Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade said that the current investment volume of fifty-four Turkish investment companies in Pakistan is 3.5 billion dollars.
Turkish investors expressed satisfaction over political and economic stability in Pakistan.
The Turkish delegation thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s assistance to the affected Turkish people in 2023 earthquake.
