TALASH: The ongoing protest camp in Shaheed Chowk Taimergara for the last 20 days regarding the missing persons ended with the assurance of the Grand Jirga.
The wives, children and relatives of all the missing persons especially of Muhammad Asrar Khan have knocked on the doors of every institution since 2013 to recover their missing loved ones especially Muhammad Asrar Khan Tajik, who has been missing for the past twelve years. But no trace of other missing persons including Asrar Khan Tajik could be found. After that, the relatives of the missing Muhammad Asrar Khan Tajik organized a protest camp as a sit-in for the last twelve days in Shaheed Chowk, the busiest place of district headquarters Taimergara. After which various nations, organizations, political and social figures continued to express solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family and their relatives by staging sit-ins in the camp. On August 12,regarding the recoveryof Muhammad Asrar Khan Tajik and other missing persons grand jirga was held under the chairmanship of Malik Bahram Khan, consisting of the leaders of Lower and Upper districts of Dir, expressing solidarity with their relatives in the protest camp organized in connection with the recovery of the missing ones.Dir Qami Pasoon, leaders of National Reform Jirga Talash Dushakhel and other political and social figures participated in large numbers. Haji Sher Bahadur President of Wari Jirga, District Bar President Abid Hayat, President of Anjuman Tajran Taimergara Haji Anwaruddin, President of Qaumi Eslahi Jirga Talash Doshkhel Malik Muhammad Ibrahim Khan Yousafzai, General Secretary Dr. Noor Muhammad, President Dir Qami Pasun Malik Shah Naseem Khan, Muhammad Fawad Alam Advocate and Muhammad Iqbal Khan Tajik and others also spoke. Malik Bahram Khan issued a declaration on behalf of the Grand Jirga and assured the relatives of the missing persons that the Grand Jirga will meet the higher authorities in this regard on August 20. And will negotiate for the recovery of Muhammad Asrar Khan Tajak and other missing persons. After that, the protest camp that has been going on for the past 12 days was terminated on the assurance of Jirga leaders.The leaders decided that if the higher authorities did not implement our demands during the negotiations, then a plan of action would be prepared to organize the protest camp jointly at the provincial and federal levels.
