SWAT: The suspect of theft was committed suicide by hanging himself in the washroom of lock up in police station Ghalehgay of Swat district. The relatives of the deceased and locals protested and called the death an indication of violence. Four personnel including SHO police station Ghaligay and investigation officer were suspended and an inquiry was conducted for the misconduct. According to the police spokesperson, a few weeks ago, a report of theft from his brother’s house was filed in the complaint of Ajab Khan resident of Kota.
On which the police arrested the accused Muhammad Sulaiman son of Rahmanullah resident of Nawakaly Kota. “The accused also revealed the names of his other accomplices in the incident, added that police arrested all the accused involved in the incident and recovered the stolen goods from their possession.” he said. The spokesman claimed that , Suleiman, one of the arrested accused, committed suicide by locking the door in the washroom of lock up in the presence of other accomplices and putting a noose around his neck.
“After the incident, the relatives of the deceased (Sulaiman) along with locals blocked the main highway of Peshawar Mingora in front of Ghaligay police station and shouted slogans and alleged that Sulaiman’s death was due to police violence and now they is plotting suicide. Later, the protestors ended their protest after successful negotiations between the police authorities and the local leaders. According to the police spokesperson, SHO Ghaligay Jahan Alam Khan, Investigation Officer Farmanullah, On-Duty Muharrar Muhammad Ayub and Sentri Fazal Rahim have been immediately suspended and an inquiry has been started against them. …………..
