The Power Minister announced that they will cooperate with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM and said, “We will together solve the problem of electricity theft and load shedding.”
Three days ago on May 25, people took to the streets and entered the Rehman Baba Grid station in Peshawar to restore power due to prolonged load shedding.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly (MPA) Fazal Elahi protested against the power outage in Peshawar and forced substation officials to restore power.
The protesters and Elahi forced their way into the station and opened nine feeders that were considered high losses due to electricity theft and unpaid bills.
The Prime Minister paid attention to cargo shedding
“The affected feeders include those in Hazarkhwani, Atoakatoot, Ahunabad, New Chamakani, Surizai Bala, Shalozan and Qalandarabad,” said a Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) spokesperson.
Later, PESCO sought a First Information Report (FIR) with PTI MPA Fazal Elahi for power-activated feeders in the station set-up.
