A high-level meeting chaired by the newly appointed Provincial Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah at his office discussed the current situation of polio eradication in the province.
During the meeting, Mr. Abdul Basit, Special Secretary Health for Polio Eradication provided detailed updates on the current polio situation in the province, discussed existing challenges, and highlighted the progress made during regular polio campaigns.
The provincial health minister appreciated the detailed presentation presented by the Coordinator EOC. He expressed the government’s resolve and commitment for eradication of this crippling disease from the region by initiating reinvigorated efforts at all levels to give a final push to the virus and wipe out the menace for good.
In the meeting, Deputy Coordinator Provincial EOC, Team Lead WHO, Team Lead NSTOP, Technical Focal Person EOC, UNICEF Social Behavior Change Communication Officer, UNICEF Communication Officer, Health Officer UNICEF and relevant EOC staff also participated.
