The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise is not interested in co-hosting the next edition of the tournament with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to news reports, the franchise urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) at the PSL Cricket Committee meeting on Tuesday to find a window that does not conflict with the IPL in order to ensure the availability of top players.
PSL franchises are against paying marquee players more as it could lead to local star players demanding an increase in their packages.
However, the idea of introducing impact players and replacing coins with bats did not win the franchise. The PSL franchise feels that such innovation has become a part of leagues around the world and is not unusual.
It was earlier reported that the PSL 2025 playoffs will be held at a neutral venue, probably England.
The next meeting of the PSL Board of Directors will be held at the end of May 2024. During the meeting, the window and match conditions changes for the next PSL will be confirmed.
In March this year, Islamabad United made it nine wins of the PSL season after defeating Multan Sultans by two wickets at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi.
Shadab Khan-led Islamabad won their third PSL title after winning in 2016 and 2018, becoming the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
