SWAT: Independent candidates backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party have achieved a decisive victory, securing all 3 national and 8 provincial seats in Swat district. Notable political figures such as PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam, former CM and current Vice Chairman PTI-P Mahmood Khan, and former Provincial Minister Muhibullah Khan were among those who lost their seats to PTI-backed independent candidates.
The official results from the National Assembly constituencies underscore this sweeping triumph: In NA-2, independent candidate Dr. Amjad, supported by PTI, emerged victorious with a commanding 88,938 votes. He was followed by Amir Muqam of PML-N with 37,764 votes in second place and Dr. Haider Ali Khan of PPP in third with 11,632 votes. NA-3 saw PTI-backed Saleem Ur Rehman clinch victory with 81,411 votes, leaving Wajid Ali Khan of PML-N in second place with 27,861 votes and Dr. Sherbaz Khan of ANP in third with 16,717 votes. Similarly, in NA-4, PTI-backed Sohail Sultan Khan secured the constituency with 88,009 votes.
Retired Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Saleem Khan of ANP followed in second with 20,890 votes, while former CM KP Mahmood Khan of PTI-P claimed third place with 16,813 votes. This trend continued in the eight provincial assembly constituencies, where PTI-backed independent candidates dominated: In Pk-3, Independent candidate Mian Sharafat Ali, supported by PTI, won with 25,170 votes, followed by Jahangir Khan of PML-N with 11,744 votes in second and Syed Jafar Shah of ANP in third with 8,844 votes. PTI-backed independent candidate Ali Shah secured Pk-4 with 30,022 votes, while Sardar Khan of PML-N trailed in second with 12,514 votes and Haider Ali Khan of PPP in third with 6,349 votes. Akhtar Khan, an independent candidate supported by PTI, emerged victorious in Pk-5 with 24,055 votes.
Sanaullah Khan of JUI-F followed in second with 15,462 votes, and Amir Muqam of PML-N secured third with 14,804 votes. Independent candidate Fazal Hakim Khan, backed by PTI, won Pk-6 with 25,330 votes, followed by Iftikhar Ahmad of PTI-P in second with 19,422 votes and Irshad Ali of PML-N in third with 8,930 votes. In Pk-7, PTI-supported independent candidate Dr. Amjad Ali claimed victory for the third time with 25,129 votes, while Habib Ali Shah of PTI-P secured second with 13,917 votes and Sher Shah Khan of ANP came third with 7,975 votes. Independent candidate Hamid Ur Rehman, backed by PTI, emerged victorious in Pk-8 with 33,152 votes, followed by Haji Jalat Khan of PML-N in second with 15,007 votes and Iftikhar Khan of ANP in third with 11,289 votes.
Sultan e Rom Khan, an independent candidate supported by PTI, won Pk-9 with 28,525 votes. Former PTI provincial minister and current PTI-P candidate Muhib Ullah Khan secured second with 6,913 votes, while the PML-N candidate trailed in third with 4,887 votes. In Pk-10, PTI-backed independent candidate Muhammad Naeem secured victory with 21,681 votes.
