SWAT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder must be held accountable for his actions.
Addressing the public gathering at Grassy ground Mingora in Swat district, the three-time prime minister lambasted the PTI founder, saying, “Those who have been tested should not be voted into power again. Why was that person [Imran Khan] given permission to harm the country?”
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief Organizer of Pakistan Muslim League-N and President of Pakistan Muslim League-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Amir Muqam also spoke on this occasion.
Maryam Nawaz said that those who destroyed Nawaz Sharif and erased his politics have disappeared today and Nawaz Sharif is present among the people.
”The country had to bear the brunt of questioning Naya Pakistan. One person had been exported throughout the country,” Nawaz Sharif said.
‘The lies had been told to the masses and they were deceived,” he further said.
Nawaz Sharif recounted the tenure of the PML-N, saying, ‘’In our tenure, the price of petrol, sugar, and the dollar were in control and cheaper. But now the prices are inflated.’’
Recounting his tenure, Nawaz Sharif said: “During the tenure of the PML-N, the price of five breads cost Rs25.”
He questioned why the PTI founder was allowed to destroy the country’s economy, saying that if PML-N had been in power in KP they would have changed the shape of the province.
He said that castigated PTI founder Imran Khan for ‘attacking’ Pakistan’s integrity to save his rule, saying that he never compromised national security despite being “subjugated”.
“He [Imran Khan] hatched a conspiracy and compromised the national security by revealing state’s secrets,” Nawaz Sharif said, adding that he “attacked” the country’s integrity to save his rule.
Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif pointed out that his government had controlled inflation, fuel rates, load shedding, the US dollar fluctuations and got rid of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “On the other hand, the former PTI government kept begging before foreign countries,” he claimed.
