Islamabad: PTI Islamabad President Aamir Mughal has been arrested.
PTI claimed that Mughal was arrested outside the deputy commissioner’s office in the federal capital. PTI’s lawyer Asim Baig also confirmed the news of the arrest.
According to PTI, Aamir Mughal went to Islamabad city office to receive a protest letter against the party’s July 6 rally in the city.
Mughal was earlier arrested on May 23 in a raid by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) police at PTI’s Central Secretariat.
The CDA demolished part of the PTI office for “violation of building regulations”, a move strongly condemned by Imran Khan’s party.
In the process, PTI activists resisted attempts to demolish government offices, leading to the arrest of several party workers by the capital’s police.
After the process was completed, the CDA officials sealed the PTI headquarters and also placed an order.
