RAWALPINDI: Former National Assembly Speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is moving towards a “grand alliance” as it is in touch with other parties as well.
Qaiser addressed the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after meeting party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan. He said he was instructed by the former prime minister to meet and involve other political leaders like Akhtar Mengal of BNP-M.
“We have a one-point program that there should be a complete and permanent end to election manipulation,” he said.
He also announced plans to initiate discussions with other political entities, including the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), to form an alliance and pursue the common goal of transparent elections.
“We are moving towards a grand alliance. We want a lasting solution. Our struggle is for the rule of law and the constitution. People are asked to protest peacefully,” Qaiser noted.

He questioned the legitimacy of the appointment of Maryam Nawaz as the Chief Minister of Punjab, expressed skepticism about her performance and alleged that people were forced to support her candidature.
The former NA spokesperson also claimed that PTI wanted a level playing field for all and respect for the people’s mandate and said they would jointly plan the future course of action. He emphasized the party’s reluctance to take governance decisions behind closed doors.
He advocated the use of technology in elections and emphasized its global expansion.
Qaiser reiterated his commitment to legal and constitutional means and called on people to protest peacefully. He emphasized the importance of transparent elections and the supremacy of the constitution in ensuring the integrity of democracy.
