Ishaq Dar, a senior politician of the PML-N and a former finance minister, has caused controversy with his recent comments on a number of national issues.
At the Punjab Assembly in Lahore, Dar called the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to send a letter to the IMF “sad” and spoke to the media. He went on to say that it was abhorrent to write the letter against the interests of the nation’s economy for selfish reasons. But he pointed out that a letter sent to the IMF wouldn’t be considered valid.
He said that the PTI was demonstrating its anti-nationality by composing the letter.
Furthermore, Dar attacked the speaker for delaying the start of the Punjab Assembly session and said that his agenda should include crucial parliamentary tasks like giving oaths in addition to clearing the gallery.
In addition, the former minister mentioned the speaker’s tardiness in arriving at the Punjab Assembly, underscoring the legislative proceedings’ lack of punctuality.
Dar added that there would be a legal justification for the election commission to withhold the announcement of the Sunni Ittehad Council reserved seats, which the independent candidates sponsored by the PTI had joined.
Regarding Pakistan’s economic problems, he expressed awareness of the nation’s struggles. He pointed out that solving the issues facing the populace was still very difficult, especially in light of previous economic downturns.
Dar emphasized that the nation had the fifth-biggest stock market globally. Nonetheless, scandals like the Dawn leaks and the Panama Papers affair greatly exacerbated the state of economic unrest.
Declaring his dedication to the advancement of the country, Dar was upbeat about Pakistan’s ability to overcome its obstacles via teamwork. He underlined that Nawaz Sharif had led the PML-N and will do so in the future.
