Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-social media activist Sanam Javed has moved the Lahore High Court seeking arrest in additional cases.
The petition was filed by Javed’s father and was prepared for hearing before LHC Justice Shahram Sarwar.
The federal government, the Punjab government and Punjab Inspector General (IG) Dr. Usman Anwar were among the 11 organizations that responded.
The petition seeks political “retribution” against Javed.
In addition, PTI members face arrest for unspecified reasons, although their names have not been released in any case. According to the complaint, Javed was detained in the jail till 7 pm every day in dire conditions.
His petition seeks a restraining order against his arrest without court permission, details of all proceedings against him and a copy of his arrest warrant.
Earlier this month, on June 5, Javed was again arrested in a separate case.
The move came after the Sargodha jail authorities received a “robkar” from another court who was granted bail in an anti-terrorism court before LHC Justice Muhammad Wahid Ahmad Khan.
Javed’s father filed a habeas corpus petition in the Lahore High Court, alleging that his daughter was illegally detained by the jail authorities.
