Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced an initiative to provide 20,000 motorcycles to students across the province in an effort to ease their transportation options.
This initiative aims to alleviate the transportation problems faced by students and improve their accessibility to educational institutions.
Speaking at a ceremony in Lahore, she said that under the scheme, the Punjab government would cover the down payment for the vehicles so that students would be able to purchase them easily.
Elaborating on the details, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that students will pay monthly installments of less than Rs 5,000, ensuring affordability for students from different socio-economic backgrounds.
In addition, the Chief Minister emphasized that in less than two years, students will have complete ownership of bicycles, providing them with a valuable asset that will increase their mobility and independence.
Apart from providing motorcycles, the Chief Minister also underlined the importance of road safety and advised the students to drive carefully.
Maryam also advised all riders to wear safety gear while traveling on the roads. This measure is consistent with efforts to ensure the well-being and safety of students who use bicycles for transportation.
