LAHORE: Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar on Thursday demanded the immediate resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
Speaking to the media, the Leader of the Opposition said that if the Election Commissioner does not resign now, the Opposition will submit a reference for his resignation to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
He further stated that Article 6 had also been invoked against many people in the past, insisting that the ongoing actions were only taken on political grounds.
Pakistan People’s Party does not support the government in banning PTI. This dark episode of oppression will soon end. Imran Khan cannot be kept in jail for long,” he reiterated.
Criticizing the Punjab CM, Bhachar said that Maryam Nawaz was only busy in politically victimizing PTI instead of working for the people of Punjab and announced that PTI would soon hit the streets to lodge its protest against the government.
