Majority of the people of Punjab expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a survey conducted by the Institute of Public Opinion Research (IPOR) on Sunday revealed.
According to the survey, the level of dissatisfaction is higher in rural areas at 28% compared to urban areas at 42%.
IPOR is targeting adults aged 18 and above in Punjab to gather public opinion on the 100-day speech of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who created history by becoming the first woman to be elected governor of the province.
Out of 35% who are not satisfied with the CM’s performance in the last 3 months, 51% of the respondents feel that the government will never improve the situation regardless of the time given.
19% of respondents asked how much time they would like to give the government to improve the situation.
The survey revealed that 60% of respondents believe that CM Maryam’s popularity has increased in the past three months, while 53% of respondents believe that the government’s move has been effective in reducing the prices of various goods.
Lowering the price of bread (bread) was the most preferred project, with 44% of respondents saying it was the best initiative. This project is followed by the Solar Panel Program (11%) and 200 Clinics on Wheels (11%).
The results concluded that CM Maryam’s leadership in Punjab is highly respected and her performance and initiatives have received public approval.
“There is good support for efforts to reduce food prices and specific projects such as reducing the price of bread compared to other initiatives. However, the level of approval in rural areas (48%) is not as high as in urban areas (62%).
