Islamabad: Municipalities of Punjab will participate in various competitions in the month of May under the ‘Suthra Punjab’ programme, which aims to identify the best local government bodies in the province.
According to the details, the initiative will involve cities and committees, municipalities and district councils, and winners will be announced at the divisional and provincial levels.
The first round of the competition will evaluate performance at the division level.
The city committee, city hall, and district council with the highest score in each category will advance to the provincial level competition.
Winners at the Punjab level will be felicitated with certificates and prizes in a formal ceremony attended by department officials and city secretaries along with other dignitaries.
This event aims to promote excellence in local government, focusing on public service and accountability.
In addition to the main competition, there will be a competition between assistant principals at the tehsil level and vice principals at the district level. This multi-level approach encourages good performance at all levels of municipal government in Punjab.
Candidates are expected to put in their best efforts and show commitment to public service as per the vision of Municipal Administration and Government of Punjab.
