Muzaffarabad: A procession was held to commemorate the martyrdom years of Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq and Abdul Ghani Lo under the patronage of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir.
According to details, a large number of residents gathered in front of the Central Press Club to pay their respects to the veteran Kashmiri leader and carried placards displaying pictures of the martyrs.
Residents participating in the rally chanted slogans like “Mir Waiz Teri Shahadat Se”, “Abdul Ghani Lon Teri Shahadat”, “Gillani Teri Shahadat Se”, “Sahrai Teri Shahadat Se”, “Inqalab aye ga”.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said that on May 21, 1990, Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq was martyred at his home in occupied Srinagar. In addition, more than 75 people were killed and hundreds injured in firing by the Indian Army during the funeral.
The speaker said it was the first mass killing by Indian soldiers in the 1990s, when thousands of mourners were killed by open fire.
On May 21, 2002, the great Hurriyat leader Abdul Ghani said that Lo was also martyred on his way to the Martyrs’ Tomb in Srinagar.
Today, the people of Jammu-Kashmir paid tribute to Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq Shaheed, Abdul Ghani Lone Shaheed and other Hawal martyrs, and the people of Kashmir also decided to continue their resistance against India.
The speaker also said that the Indian government has martyred Kashmiri resistance leaders through conspiracies, executions and unnecessary use of military force.
“The whole world saw the Indian army killing many Kashmiri leaders like Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq, Abdul Ghani Lone, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Syed Ali Gillani, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sehrai, Muhammad Afzal Guru and others,” he said. .
They further said that India cannot weaken the Azad Kashmir movement through military violence, terrorism and conspiracies.
They said that the decision of the people of Kashmir not only to honor the holy sacrifice of the martyrs of Kashmir but also to continue the struggle for the freedom of the country is repeated.
