Ranveer Singh has added yet another exciting project to his already packed slate. Rumor has it that Singham Again and Don 3 are already on the cards and she is portraying the superheroine Shaktimaan, HanuMan, the latest box office success, is said to be collaborating with director Prasanth Varma. Varma is said to have approached Singh for a big budget film set in Indian mythology.
Sources close to the development shed light on the project, dubbed Rakshas. Apparently, the film is part of Prasanth Varma’s larger cinematic universe, and the director strategically introduces the characters before bringing them together for the grand finale. A source said, “Ranveer is impressed with the director’s intentions and long-term plans for the universe and is excited to start the Rakshas journey soon.”
Pre-production seems to be progressing quite a bit. The script, screenplay and even the preview are reportedly complete. The team is currently finalizing the shooting schedule. The source further said, “Ranveer has met Prasanth Varma and the team several times in the past few weeks and has done Pooja for the film on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Hyderabad.”
Rakshas is touted as a period film set in the pre-independence era with a mythological background. Singh’s character is said to have shades of negative power. Details of the character’s background are being kept under wraps, but sources indicate the character has dark roots in Indian mythology.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Ranveer Singh is currently working with Aditya Dhar on another pre-production project. The shooting schedule of Raksha and Dhar will be completed in the next two weeks and the shooting will begin in the latter half of 2024.
