Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan on Tuesday added another check to his cap by becoming the first bowler to take 150 wickets in less than 100 T20 Internationals.
The Afghanistan skipper became the fastest bowler to take 150 T20I wickets in 92 matches, a historic feat.
The only bowler to achieve this feat is New Zealand’s Tim Southee, who took 150 wickets in 118 matches. So there are only two bowlers left in T20Is.
Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, however, is one point short of joining the squad. Played 129 T20I matches.
It wasn’t the only glory for Afghanistan as they made their T20 World Cup semi-final debut after defeating Bangladesh in their first Super 8 match on Tuesday. Rashid led the way with a brilliant performance as Rashid took four wickets for 23 runs.
The Rashid Khan-led side beat Bangladesh by 8 (DLS Method) at the Arnos Wale Stadium in St Vincent’s, Kingstown.
India, England and South Africa have qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing mega tournament and the fourth match will be decided after today’s match.
South Africa will now lock horns with Afghanistan, while England will lock horns with India in the semi-finals. Both matches will be held on June 27.
