The amount reflects nearly 90% of the revenue target set by the board.
Speaking to APP here on Tuesday, Additional Director General Umair Mahmboob informed that the current income from property tax (Rs 1.25 billion) was Rs 160 million more than the previous fiscal year.
“We have motivated the property owners and also adopted a strict policy in this regard which resulted in maximum amount collection,” he said.
He informed that the residents and business community have responded generously to RCB’s 10% discount offer which ended on June 30, 2024.
To various questions, he said that RCB is engaged in solving many problems with limited resources. Despite higher fixed expenses, the council has been able to manage the financial crunch it faces, he said. Umair Mehboob expressed his satisfaction with the recent tax collection and said that further efforts will be made to enhance revenue collection during the next fiscal year.
