Peshawar: A record 9.3 million tourists visited scenic spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between May 1, 2024 and July 31, reflecting the growth of the province’s tourism sector.
This joyous revelation was made during a meeting on tourism held under the chairmanship of Zahid Chan Zeb, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Tourism and Culture.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary Tourism Department and Director Generals of Tourism Offices, said a press statement issued here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Zahid Chan Zeb was informed that a record number of tourists visited KP this summer season.
This increase in the number of visitors is also due to the tourism promotional activities organized by all the authorities in the KP tourism department, the meeting was told.
Speaking on the occasion, KP CM’s Adviser on Tourism Zahid Chen appreciated the efforts of the tourism department to attract large number of people to the province.
He also informed the participants of the meeting that cultural activities will be resumed soon at Nishtar Hall Peshawar.
He asked stakeholders in Adventure Tourism to register with the tourism services wing in time.
Instructions were also issued to all tourism authorities to ensure enforcement of the Government of Khyber Pakhtukhwa Motor Estates and Estates (Development, Management and Regulation) Act, 2020. The CM’s advisor also directed all tourism authorities to upload data on the KP website and mobile app Tourism.
