The phrase “Retired judge with good wisdom” struck me deeply today, like a sudden revelation. While listening to the news anchor speak for the next five minutes, I couldn’t recall anything they said. However, this simple sentence sparked a flurry of thoughts in my mind. It made me ponder deeply about various aspects of life.
At that moment, when we were engrossed in the simple pleasures of pure honey and Organic fresh milk, this sentence challenged us to contemplate our own identities. Who are we, truly? On one hand, we are guided by the divine, suggesting that we have been crafted in the most perfect form – beautiful and proportionate, unlike animals who hunch, we stand upright. We eat not like beasts, but with the dignity of using our hands. We have been blessed with knowledge and the capacity to reason, understand, and make choices. Sent into this world, and particularly into our homeland, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, we are tasked with using our five senses and divine blessings to elevate humanity through wisdom and understanding.
Yet, despite our advancements, we still seek individuals endowed with profound wisdom. What if, instead of verbose expressions, we simply referred to judges, lawyers, doctors, engineers, milk, and honey? And what if we approached them with the same purity and sincerity we expect from them? In doing so, we would honor the Creator’s intent in crafting us.
However, the unfortunate reality is that we are failing to impart significant lessons to more than half of our population, primarily comprising youth. When Pakistan was founded in 1947, there was a fervent spirit of progress and optimism. Yet, even after eight decades, we have not fully realized those aspirations. While we may not be lagging far behind globally, it’s fair to say that we are not at the forefront either. Despite the passage of time, it’s not too late to course correct.
If we unify as a nation, aligning our hearts and minds to rectify our course, the day isn’t far when the world will once again admire us as Pakistanis. Let’s commit today to reconnect with our true essence, much like the simplicity and wisdom encapsulated in that single sentence. Let’s realign ourselves with the purpose our Creator intended when He placed us on this earth. Let us strive to embody the ideals of wisdom and purity in all our endeavors, ensuring that our legacy is one of progress, enlightenment, and unity.
